David brings a practical approach to advocacy with a focus on meeting his clients’ goals. He gives every client a realistic assessment of objectives and the available options to pursue them.
David began practicing employment law upon admission to the Ohio bar in 2007 – first with a law firm primarily representing employers in the healthcare field and then as counsel to a fast-growing health services provider. In 2009, David founded his own firm so that he could represent employees and consumers as well as managers and employers.
David has experience litigating race, age, and disability discrimination claims, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) interference and retaliation claims, whistleblower claims, breaches of contract, and claims for unpaid wages. He has successfully represented corporate clients and advocated for employees against some of the largest companies in the country. He has also drafted company policies and employee handbooks, counseled managers on HR practices, and successfully defended managers personally facing discrimination and retaliation lawsuits.
David has represented employees and employers in a variety of forums including: state and federal courts in Ohio, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission (OCRC), the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Department of Labor (DOL) investigations, and unemployment compensation hearings.
David has served as vice chair of the Solo/Small Firm Section of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and a member of the CMBA Lawyer Referral Service steering board. Prior to enrolling in law school, David was an award-winning newspaper reporter in Lake County. He joined the firm in 2020.
